that you end up crying to him over trivial stuff in your life? I feel so stupid about crying - this issue doesnt even involve the case. But, I trust him and feel like I can depend on him.

Do not trust a lawyer for a shoulder to cry on.

Lawyers normally will do some background research about you before he/she takes your case and see if you have money or not, even friendship he/she will make it the same as researching the acceptance of the case study... It is very dangerous to get too close to your lawyer, he/she may not tell you the whole truth based upon his/her own interest.
My rich friend had a divorce case, he hired the female lawyer, eventually, he sold many of his big homes to settle the case, he lost almost everything and business.
Few years later, the ex-wife lawyer was dating with his lawyer. He met them in the Bar...
SEE!! Can you see how they operating their business, based on Sexy, and money?

If he's quite ethical and professional, he won't take advantage of you. Just talk about the case and don't talk about everything in your life. Stick to your case.

I'm sure that he's thrilled that he has to listen to some nutbar piss and moan about her personal life. He must be professional because I'd have told you to knock that sh*t off a while ago.
