I have laurels?
Laurels are something you give a person when they do something completely stupid and dangerous and some how that person manages against all odds to survive. That is why they handed out laurels, because you did not die.
Give me a lei instead. They give you that as a token of affection and warmth, a way of saying "Welcome, I am glad to see you." not "Why aren't you dead yet?"
Whatever laurels I have, believe me are layed to rest. I do not look to make a martyr of myself, I only wish to enjoy life and the challenges that it presents me from time to time.
There is nothing more interesting than a good challenge.
So no, I can rest on my laurels or if they are worth something have a garage sale and sell them to others. I learned whatever lesson they had to offer when I managed to survive.
