Well, since you are just learning how to play, I would start off on an alto sax. It wouldn't say its the easiest to play, but you can find a lot more music and books to teach you how to play on the alto sax. The difference between the soprano, alto, and the tenor sax is the soprano is about the size of a clarinet and is a higher octave than the alto or tenor. The alto is a little bigger, has a bigger mouth piece, and is an octave lower than the soprano. And finally, the tenor sax is bigger than the alto, has a bigger mouth piece and is an octave lower than the alto and two octaves lower that the soprano. You can find music on the Internet for all of these saxophones and if you go into your local music stores they have books for beginners. These books with teach you the notes and will give you easy songs to learn them with. You may want to ask about a tuner as well. Since you are a beginner you really don't know how to tune your instrument by ear, so a tuner will help with that. I hope this helps. Good luck!!!

Definitely play piano. It's pretty easy and once you learn it, you can pretty much master any instrument. There is a bass cleff and a treble cleff in the music (unlike saxophone and most instruments) so you have to use both hands to play different notes at different times on different keys so it may be a little bit of a challenge if you don't have cordination but the bright side is once you have cordination on the piano, you're a lot better at video games too! You can't play chords on a saxophone either and you don't have to have lung power to play piano really well. I play clarinet and the reed really bugs my teeth so saxophone isn't good if you have sensitive teeth. If you play piano, you can play in all the same bands as you would if you play saxophone plus you could play keyboard or keytar in a rock band. It's also a lot easier to transpose the music into different major and minor keys on the piano. It's EXTREMELY difficult to learn how to do that on the clarinet so I'm guessing it's hard on the saxophone too. Piano also sounds better solo than a saxophone does. Saxophone sounds okay solo but it's better in a band. Important: If you decide to play saxophone you will sound TERRIBLE when you first start but after a few weeks you'll get much better tone and it will be a lot easier from there. Don't give up. edit: wow, I just realized how much I wrote. I better get 10 points lol

Awsome choice of instrument* The sax is amazing~ I would suggest you go into a few different music shops and ask all the questions you need, try out a few different sax's-and you'll see the difference in them. It also depends on what you prefer~ (alto....etc) you're best to get "hands on" experience before purchasing or pursuing this. Also, I suggest searching sax's, music etc........on the internet as well as in the library~ But definately go to a few different music shops and ask your questions.........also ask if they also teach lessons to learn...how to play the sax*~ :)

Best wishes and Always Practice ...as Practice makes Perfect.....................
