I now think life is about coming to know who God is through His command to love your neighbor as yourself. There is something about love that transcends mere feelings or emotions. Love is a state of being that muddies the boundaries between people.
I think in some sense, God is love and we find God in our love for our neighbor for where love is, there God is also.
