No, I haven't been there. Is it the one that was on Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares? I think that's one of his best successes isn't it?

Yes I have. There is currently a class-action law suit against Mama Cheries and there are currently 43 plaintiffs with complaints ranging from food poisoning to accusations Mama Cheries uses rat meat in her soul food. If you ate at this restaurant and have any health issues the Brighton health department is taking statements and the court date is now being scheduled.

I dined there recently. I found the food to be good and exactly what it said on the menu. I would recommend it to anybody.
Portion control was very much in evidence (we all tried Jambalaya and got exactly the same number of pieces for each veg as well the chicken/prawns). They also automatically added service charge which I dislike.
So go there and eat. Don't expect multi-starred cuisine but a good eating place with a nice atmosphere.
