How well does all of this go together? I already have the PC...just deciding on a video card and a power supply now. I've narrowed it down to this combination. What do you guys think?!

1. PC is a powerful business or media center unit.

2. Video card is a DX9 card that is good for video but not that exciting in games. It is still using slow ddr2 memory. The one using ddr3 will be faster. For this new PC, a DX10 card would be better, like the 8500GT. Its cost is comparable to that of the 7300GT. Better performance in games can be obtained from the 8600GT or the GTS.

3. The power supply has more than enough capacity to power even the 8800GTS (320mb) that draws up to 9 amperes on the +12V rail. The 7300GT draws only 3 amps.

You better make sure the power supply will fit in the HP. The big name computer makers don't use industry standard sized power supplies (perhaps so you have to buy replacements from them?).

Also, big name computer power supplies sometimes have completely different motherboard connectors than normal computer parts.

This forum discussion suggests the HP a6152n does indeed have an odd sized power supply:

Although you only have a 300w power supply I think it will run a 7300GT just fine.
