what would prompt a woman, while away on say a convention, to toss her marriage vows out the window, for a romp in the sheets with someone else? What ever happened to fidelity? I think there are more cases of women cheating on their hubbies nowadays.

Why don't you back off of that whole subject with him? You may even be encouraging him with all the flirting and making him think that his marriage is going to be easy to let go because he already has someone lined up who'll be easy. This has nothing to do with friendship. This has to do with sexual teasing. And for God's sake, woman, what makes you think a man who just dumped his wife is a good person to hook up with? When he's single, he'll be probably shocked to find out that number one, he's a divorced guy - read 'failure' into that, and he'll be shocked to find out that the relief of having the fighting over is great, that is until the fighting starts in divorce court. And guess what, he's going to feel like a real piece of fecal material to his kids. So let's just say he'll be looking at houses but he'll never want to buy the first house he looks at - he'll just camp there and then move on because it's a big real estate market. You are the first house. The real estate market is all the women ou there that he knows he wants to experience. And he will. With or without you. Stay his friend if what you mean by friend is really a friend, not just someone to get in the sack a few times. Remember that you may come across as hot for him but you'll have feelings and they will get hurt.

No...I think its both sexes? For whatever reason! Possibly lack of communication! Some people do it out of anger...possibly to "pay back" there significant other.

I think it goes both ways! There's world it getting more and more corrupt! People are becoming more and more selfish!

Its bad enough when people are in a relationship for awhile to cheat..but when there married???

Its ridiculous because it seems like its acceptable to cheat. "Everyone does it"? I fear to get married! I've been in a relationship for 8 years. The first few years...I found out he was cheating..and even heard rumors since! With my own model lookin' cousin. I try to think..she would do that...or hopefully him. But its hard to trust! When you have 2 kids...its hard to walk away!

What drives people to cheat! Maybe I was so depressed! But does that give him the right to cheat!!!

I think it goes both ways! I'm still having a hard time believing in fidelity!

Very good question! I hope you find the answer because I'm struggling w/ it myself!

Why do people cheat! Is that bytch worth our family? Half the damn time you never find out! Or its a rumour..thats somewhat hard to believe!

Probably the same thing that prompts a man to do the same thing. Sex and not love is the engine running the desires. Also the man might not be taking time to meet the desires of his wife and when the opportunity was there with someone else it happened. This will not make it right but it happens.

Thanks to TV and soap operas showing just easy it really can be and how to get away with it>Many people actually relate their everyday lifes to these shows and try the same thing if their marriage is boring and dull. In todays society, marriage vows, fidelity, morals, values, etc are mostly a thing of the past and most just dont care any more just as long as they are having fun living. Divorces are at an alltime high and dont appear to be coming down any time soon, family morals and values are being tossed out the window at the same time and no one really seems to care so life goes on and so do these idiotic extra marital affairs. Its really sad and too bad

She was never committed to him to begin with or she wouldn't have done something that is both destructive to her self-respect and shown him such dis-respect.

Men are marrying little girls and little girls are marrying little boys.

If the men could look beyond the cuteness of females for something that resembles character, morals and loyalty, they would have faithful wives and a great example of what a mother should be. If women looked beyond Mr. stud muffin to someone who has character, morals and dependability, they would have faithful husbands who help around the house and support the families.

Too often the very thing most people say, "it is no big deal" to before the wedding, becomes the thing that causes divorces later.

probably the same thing that would prompt the man. you have no Idea of what is or what took place in the marriage to pass judgment on her or the guy she had the one night stand with. or if it was even a one, night stand. I don't believe in making excuses for adult mistake's. wrong is wrong. the very people who run this country are doing the same, behind double bolted door's. some in public place's. is your friend aware that you took something that was most likely told to you in private and broadcasted it all over the net? the simple fact that you did this speaks volumes about your character and the type of person YOU are. are you immuned from her type of behavior? no you are not. does this make you a bad person? no it does not. it simply says we all make costly mistakes in life that could be avoided if we spent as much time seeking to understand, rather than, to be undersood.and to listen with our ears rather than our mouth. and to see with our mind not with our eyes.believing is seeing.

Why you just put it all on the married woman, and sound like it was all her fault. It takes two to tangle. After all, Why did your friend still slept with her, even though he already know her status? And if he did not know at first, he should try to find out before he get laid.So ,maybe they both didn't care for the outcome. Men cheats on their wife all the time, too. More worse that, they even cheat when their wife's pregnant. So tell me which one is more worse.

Not giving any credit to those women who cheat, but I think alot of the time the women isn't happy with their marriage. Whether that be because the husband is a jerk or the women just isn't happy because she married the wrong man or is hoochie or whatever. But I think they just see something in the person they are about to have an affair with that just looks better. But of course those types of women aren't going to be happy with anyone because they aren't happy with themselves!

Just a guess off the top of my head:
A combination of the (false) feeling of freedom, being out of town, away from normal responsibilities, ALCOHOL (certainly), camraderie, fun, etc.
Oh! And the most important one: the Fall. Also known as Original Sin. We are all subject to that one.
Even the posters above who would "never" dream of cheating.

The cheating ratio of men to women is 45% to 38% it is becoming a common occurence , you just dont read about it as much unless the women admit it , either way their reasons behind doing it are just as much garbage as the excuses the men use.
