The legal definition of domestic violence varies from state to state but basically covers physical violence and stalking harrassment of one party by another party where the two shared a common household (lived together in a domestic situation). The definition of domestic violence though is when one party uses control and intimidation in the form of abuse (physical, mental or verbal) in order to get the other party to do what they want.
