I love to read - I could not live without reading, but I am slow. I usually read one chapter in the evening, but that is after a day's work when I am extremely tired. So it could take me months to read a book especially if it is a difficult book like Wings of the Dove by Henry James, in which I had to reread sentences over and over again to make sure I understood what I was reading. But I love the challenge of the great writers. I don't know if there is a modern writer today who compares with any of these great writers from the past.

If I am reading a modern book, then I can read faster because the language is easier and the book usually lacks the depth of the great classics which require great concentration.

Hi, I read 2 or 3 books a week if I don't spend too much reading time on yahoo answers.

I can't walk on my own and have Neuropathy so my time is spent reading, listening to music and working with pictures.

Reading is the love of my life and I like books to take me to a place and time that I have never been before.

Thanks for the question.

I read a lot. usually 8-9 a month, but in a good month, with light homework load and enough money to keep running to Barnes and Noble, probably 10-14

I was reading at least one book a day till I started answering questions on this site! (crazy, huh.) Now I read the weekly magazines only. Well I already read all the library books.
I reread a lot though, too.

It comes and goes.
