okay, so right now, i am 15 years old, and i have very high hopes for my future. i plan to become an actor, or something you have to audition for.

i feel like my family is suppressing me from achieving this dream, and i plan on moving out when i am maybe 18? my mom is very over productive and always refusing to give me permission to go to places that seem far to her. i want to try to look for places with auditions but places with those are always too far and dangerous, according to her, so i kind of gave up.

what's your take on my situation right now?

for someone your age it is but normal to have big dreams and high hopes for yourself and at the same time because you are quite young, you are vulnerable to to mistakes and disappointment and getting hurt maybe the end result. As for your parents, i'm sure that it is their best interest to protect you for your own good. I'm not saying that you give up your dreams, you still have a long way to travel, think of things that you should prioritize first. things that you know will bring you a brighter future, like finishing school first. But,if you really believe that you got what it takes, the talent and perseverance to persue your dream then go for it. You don't have to move out, try talking your parents into it. give them assurance that it will do you good and you still know your priorities and i'm sure they will understand.

Sit down with your mom and talk to her about what your dream is and why you want to do that with your life. Do some research into the entertainment industry and the acting profession. Look around for drama schools and universities that have good theatrical arts programs. Show her everything you know about it and try to work something out with her that you both are comfortable with. Remember: most famous actors started out on the stage. Get into some school plays or look around for a local theatre organization that you can get involved with. This will give you some great experience and bring you closer to your goal. Plus it'll help you mother see that you are really serious about it and that there is a future to be had in acting.

You are only 15 years old, there are a lot of auditions and interviews ahead of you, so if your mom doesn't let you or doesn't take you to any, don't worry about it. Concentrate on your schooling right now and when you are independent and have your own means of transportation, you can go to any audition you want, be it out of state. So right now, enjoy your self, you are a teenager, have fun. Life is a little bit cruel and unfair but what can we do about it, you just have to make the most out of it.

You choose your own destiny.
Just because your parents may not be that supportive does not mean you can't follow your dreams.
Research. Start saving up money. Get yourelf lessons if you can. Make plans for once you turn 18.
You truly can do anything you set your mind to.

Good, there is plenty of room for improvement. Go do something about it.

You gave up...WHY!!! If you want it you can NOT give up.
