I was young when my Great grandfather passed, he was in his 80's. But, my Great grandmother lived to be 103, and lived a great full life...even could drive safely till she was 93. My kids would call her great, great great grandmomma (they got a little confused, lol)

My great grandmother died final September on the age of 104. She substitute right into a ultimate lady who claimed to sense 60 up till the final month or so of her existence. I have been given a raffle to get to comprehend her o.k., for which i'm going to continuously be grateful. All of my different great-grandparents have been ineffective via the time i substitute into the right age to undergo in recommendations any of them. I met my father's mom some situations, yet i do no longer possibly have lots touch with that area of the family members so whilst she died it wasn't a extensive deal to me. i'm VERY close with my maternal grandparents. My grandfather is the only father parent i've got ever had, and as quickly as I lose them i visit be devastated. human beings ought to sense blessed to comprehend their elder kin.

We seem to be a family of late bloomers.
Both sets of my great grandparents died many, many years before I was born--probably in the mid 1800's.
My two grandfathers died on the same day in 1914, at the beginning of WWI, 26 years before I was born.
I talked to my dad's mother on the phone a couple of times, back in the days when it was, "Shhh! It's long distance!" because she lived about 3500 miles away. I never met her. She died when I was 9.
The only grandmother I ever knew was my mother's adoptive mother. We visited her for two weeks every August. She was born in 1864 and died in 1953.
My own mother would now be 106 if she had lived.
My own father would be 120 if he had lived. He died when I was 19.

No, my Dad's Grandparents before he was born (except for 1 of his Grandfathers, he died when my Dad was 6).
My Mums paternal Grandparents died in ww2 before she was born also, but she did grow up knowing her maternal Grandparents (Mum was born in England and they were Italian). My Mums Grandmother died in 2000 almost 100 yrs old. I never met her because I have never left Australia lol

Sure, I had a great grandmother around until a month or so ago. In fact, she was even a great-great grandmother because my cousins have kids.

Yes, I met both of my Great Grand parents on my mother's side and my Great Grandfather on my dad's side. I also made Great Grandparents out of my Grandparents on my dad's side. My Grandpa is 89 and my Grandma is 87.

No but, I would have loved to meet all of them.
I have researched and written their history.
It took the last 10 years to do it with the help of many cousins.
I have one brilliant cousin who had the good sense to interview aunts and uncles when they were alive.
I do feel like I know them and on a first name basis.
I also feel their spirit.
It's something that I can't explain but I think their spirit was helping find documented information, diaries and written story's and news articles about them. Also census records.
I think their spirit is thankful that I have left a legacy for them.
Thanks for letting me share this with you. By the way I have also written my personal history.

My paternal grandmother's parents were both alive until I was about 5 years old. I have vague memories of them. I also knew my great aunt. She was alive until I was 13.
