McDLT was the greatest burger McDonalds ever created. Burger King was mocking their advertising pretty bad, so McD's dropped it.
The McDLT was bigger than the B & T. Kinda like a whopper. The foam tray it was served in was pretty huge. The burger came in 2 halves. The "hot side" and the "cold side".
I kinda forget the toppings it's been so long. I think the cold side had lettuce, tomato, mayo and onion, and the hot side had the bottom bun, meat and cheese...
Edit: according to wikipedia, they're the same thing....I disagree...

The McDLT. came with the hot side, which was the bottom bun (heel), the cheese and the meat, and the cold side ... the top bun (crown), mustard, ketchup, onion, 2 pickles, mayo, lettuce and tomato. These were placed in a special box shaped to fit the burger. The difference between the McDLT. and the Big and Tasty is that people who did not want anything on the cold side had the choice of simply removing it without it being smushed together. With the Big and Tasty, if you don't want the lettuce or tomato, you have to tell them that at the counter or the window, and pray to God that they get it right. If they don't, you either wait for a refund, another burger, or grin and bear it. Besides that, if you special - order a Big and Tasty, you have to wait extra time for the order to come up. The McDLT. was more of a convenience ... and people - especially older people - liked that. It was the All-American burger from McDonald's!
