"How do the first-person narrators recount their feelings of being pressured into doing something they would rather have avoided?"

I'm not really sure what they mean by "recount their feelings"..

Can someone explain the question or put it into other words?

I think 'recount' has the particular meaning of giving a personal view of something that happened in the past.

So they aren't trying to explain how they would feel, or how they are feeling, but how they felt at the time.

-Recount their feelings means that they talk about their feelings, recall their feelings, describe thier feelings, retell their fellings, etc.
-The question means that "how did the people recall and talk about their feelings about being forced to do something?"
