I am trying to find the meaning of neut for my son (7). It was a burning question at school. The clue was a type of sea creature and I believe the spelling is correct however no search of the internet or dictionary will bring up a meaning for this...please help....need to know tonight...

A newt is a type of salamander, that undergoes metamorphosis from a larval form (an eft) to an adult form, in a similar way that tadpoles turn into frogs. They have amazing powers of regeneration, that led to the legend that they live forever.

They are types of amphibians ( lissamphibians), along with frogs and toads

a newt is a water based lizard in the uk at least, i would imagine they are quite widespread. the nearest spelling of a sea based creature is the nautilus, a red and white striped shell snail type creature that is either a snail or squid related? sorry i do not really know anything about them
