Yes it is not smart. I once called my ex-wife a moron and she tried pulling a knife on me. Watch out!!!!!
It's better to treat everyone the same as you would want treated. You know the saying do unto others as you want done unto you. Be respectful.

If you say it as nicely as possible and state the reasons why you feel that way, then it is most likely okay. I'm sorry people are calling you stupid. Do you know why they are doing that? Maybe you could change something.
