Don't you know that is probably exactly the wrong thing to do they tell you you are better off not trying to treat a snake bite yourself than you are to treat. If you have been bitten by a snake that can kill unless you have a way out right then and there you're dead

You don't actually need a knife. You can puncture the wound with anything to make it deeper to increase the blood flow. Then you can attempt to suck the toxins out. This is only a temporary fix, until you can find competent medical help
