Why would a man want to live with a woman he is not romantically involved with? Why would a man want to live with several women? Why would a woman want to live with a man she is not romantically involved with. Men are dangerous gay or straight. Male relatives are also dangerous to non related females. Knowing the dangers of living with a man, one is not romantically involved with why would a woman allow this? Money and location should not be issues since one gender can live with the same gender for just as much money and with just as convenient a locale

Why would a landlord allow this?
The woman could get attacked
A man could be falsely accused (though it is unlikely)
The landlord would be LEGALLY responsible since it happened on the property.

Brutality of women is a big enough problem without inviting it into your home and allowing it to live there.

Sigh.
Answering a question with a question does not = an answer.
97% of predators (child molesters) are M. Men KNOW other men are predators. (Source GMA).Therefore it stands to reason that a majority of rapists and those who commit violence against women are men.

As for nice one's answer- the question was about choice. If I put myself in a dangerous situation it is not the landlords fault, however if the danger is thrust upon ME by the landlord it is his/her fault. If the lease says no men and all of a sudden the landlord allows a man to move in for example. According to nice one's logic- If I were attacked by a man at a hotel it would be MY fault b/c I chose to stay at a hotel. Hotels have been sued for less.

Finally, nice one I've never taken a nap on a freeway but I'm pretty sure it isn't a good idea so I won't do it.

Special note to big- What I NEED is to be safe in my own home, that means no men residing with me.

Some people are dangerous. Some are nice. And both males and females fall into each category.

You must have had some bad experiences with men to have such loathing for them, and I feel sorry for you about that. But there are 4 billion men on this planet, and LOTS of them are kind and gentle.

But I should tell you that your concern about a landlord's legal liability is incorrect. If you are attacked by a roommate of your own choosing, the landlord would NOT be legally responsible. He is not responsible--legally, morally, or any other way--for your decision to have a bad roommate. He is only responsible for things under his control. If the doors won't lock and someone comes into your apartment, the landlord might be responsible. But if someone is in the apartment because you chose to have him there, that's not the landlord's fault.

And yes, I agree that you should be safe in your own apartment. Don't take on a bad person as a roommate, obviously. But not all male roommates are predators, and not all females are nice.

I think this exact question could be asked about living with strangers. While there are horrible people in the world, including horrible men, I think the take on society espoused by this question is a bit extreme. But what do I know?
