Hello Nelly,
Smiling is a very serious business, and smiling says more about you than any amount of words can ever say, because Nobody can ever describe what it is that makes us smile for the simple mystery of it. It's a little like, asking a Blind person to describe the colour red, or any colour for that matter, they know the world is full of colours, but they have never seen any of them, but for somone to actually try to describe a genuine smile, there the diffculty begins, anyway Nelly I am going to try to describe a smile for you...
First a warm and wonderful feeling will come from your mind, by way of your heart and your eyes, and everything that you feel because of that warm glow you feel from the combination of what it is that is making you feel happy at that particular moment, is going to be directed to all the muscles that we don't even know the names of, and trhe millions of nerves that we still don't know the names of to come together at that moment and a big warm and happy look of love, well being and happiness appears on the human face, this in the eyes of others will show a great increase in your own strength of character, and because of the very infectiousness of that smile, all the people gathered around you will feel relaxed enough to, to share that very vital moment with you, and soon there humanistic values of what they see will do the same, for them as your body has done for you, and Yes, the very strength of your happy character has rubbed off on them too..
I am smiling now Nelly, and irt is all thanks from me to you, for making it happen, I enjoyed answering this question for you, and I am now happy to post it to you hoping you will smile having read it.. Good Day to you also.. bye..Tony M..

There's a very, very old song, "When you're smiling, when you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you.." I remember the rest, but that makes my point. It's true! Just like laughter. When I go on an errand, shopping whatever, I've noticed I can cheer up people in the gloomiest of moods, with a smile, with a laugh about something they hadn't noticed. The best part, if you get someone to smile, there's a chain reaction. Everyone starts to smile. It IS contagious, & I encourage it in therapy. Laughter (especially) is known to have physical health benefits as well as mental, emotional...
So. If you're smiling, keep on smiling! Only the meanest person won't smile back--& it's so significant when the smile is returned to you, & passed on to another.

Connection! A smile is a perfect way to connect to the rest of your world.
I was reading all of the 'answers' here before I began typing---I have a smile on my face . Can't even read or think about you question without smiling!
Thank you for asking !
Have you ever noticed that you can't smile without involving all of your face !
I can feel my eyes crinkle -even begin to tear up a little.
My cheeks are rounder and I feel warmth in them.
My eyebrows move , my jaw is relaxed and, I just sat up straighter !
Wow a smile IS pretty powerful 'stuff '!!!
When I smile at someone and they smile back the light in the room seems a little brighter. I may not remember that face but the smile stays with me all day . The memory of that smile warms me just thinking about it.
Connecting ! A smile is a personal connection to the rest of the world. !

Smile brings you and other happiness. For me it is a strength as powerful as a Sun. Without the smile in our face, there's the absence of happiness. What for are you here without the radiance of the smile brings. Those saccharine smiles of a person is a contagious medicine that heals sickness. That's how powerful a smile is. Smile and have a nice day too!

If the smile is genuine, some are not, then it's strength is the effect it has on the beholder!
This may or may not be a feeling of well being!
