it's funny how impending jail/prison time makes everyone suddenly turn to god, gimme a break, he's a grown man, and he knew what he was doing was wrong, this god thing is just to save face!

This has been reported here in Atlanta, has been discussed on all the talk radio sports stations:
The year that Michael Vick signed with the Falcons, Chris Chandler was the starting quarterback. When he was hurt during a game (Chris) Ms. Vick was seen cheering and clapping in the stands.
Michael Vick's own father stated Michael was into dogfighting long before his NFL career. (see link below) Michael had dogfights in Ms. Vick's garage when he still lived at home. She knew all about it, didn't stop it. Now she wants to cry 'mistake'. She raised the monster to be who he is, she is almost as culpable as he is.
He has turned to God? Yep, sorta like the big christian, the BTK killer.
I am glad Michael Vick is a snitch. The more of these dogfighting rings that are exposed and put a stop to the better. However, it does sorta negate the Vick apologists excuse that his homies never should have 'snitched' on him. Now they have to go on to the next excuse, which has become "it was just dogs".

Who are we to question his turning to God? I agree that every criminal finds God before being sent away- or while they are away- however there is so much more to be concerned about. There are at least two children that die every day in Chicago's school system- and we are allowing the media and PETA to openly and modern day lynch this man. I just wished people showed more concerned about whats important. I was totally sickened when I saw previews of the dogfighting as a dog owner (Yorkie). However, bigger problems like war, soliders dying for no reason, hungry children- and ya'll are going crazy over dogs? Are we locking Bush up next? Yes, I feel sorry for his mother- because a mother's love is unconditional and she hurting for her son- and what goes on between Vick and God is between him & God.

I have in inherent mistrust of anyone who's "turned to God." It's the kind of sleazy, meaningless thing you say in a vein attempt to broker sympathy without actually doing anything.
I'm sorry, did that offend someone? It's OK, because I too have turned to God, just ask my mom. See? That was easy.
As for Vick's motives: it seems to be going a little something like this (after all, no one here has insight into the thoughts of Michael Vick):
1. I want to avoid punishment, so I'll deny it.
2. This seems to be getting worse, so I'll tell Godell I'm not involved, so that I can avoid a Pacman special (i.e. suspension without acutally having been convicted of doing anything)
3. Well, the case is looking bad, so I'll try and mitigate my professional and legal punishments by pleading guilty to the dog-fighting stuff, but stiffly deny anything that could get me suspended for life, like gambling.
4. Well, I might not be able to launch a come-back if teams think I'll drive away fans, so I'll try and plead penance.
The moral of the story: anyone who claims to have turned to God is someone to be wary of.

No, I don't feel sorry for Vick's mother. She raised not one, but two little monsters in Marcus and Michael. That tells me that either she is trouble like them or that she really didn't care how they grew up as long as they didn't bother her.
As for the snitching, so what. His partners were doing to him. That's the way the law works. Besides, if he hadn't done it in the first place, he wouldn't have to snitch to save his own hide.

A quote from the mother of the year:
"I gotta be strong for him," Brenda Vick sobbed, standing outside the handsome brick mansion her son bought for her in Suffolk, Va. "It is tough on everybody. They are trying to put my baby in jail, and for what?"
"Everybody makes mistakes," she continued, only hours after her son filed his guilty plea Friday. "Everybody deserves a second chance. He has given his life over to God. He is not a criminal . . . He's a good person. He has a big heart, and it just hurts."
Is she crying for the dog boy or the loss of 120 or more millions?
As far as snitching, I've heard rumors that he could take a lot of big names down with him .

Vick is doing "wrong" by doing the right thing..he'll be hated for snitching and maybe even in danger -- remember the people betting at/on his Dog Fights were betting $50k to $100k per fight so they are'nt fast food workers or school teachers...\
they must be celebrities or sports stars especially the ones known for gambling like " mike piazza " charles barkley" micheal jordan ' he may snitch on underworld criminals too..
or highly respected businessmen ' ...this could create an avalanche of hate from people all over..---:
Remember'; Americans have a long history of " Hating and slaying " -the messenger - who, expose their heros faults!
especially as a black person...if he rats out respected -admired-rich white who bet on this stuff - he'll never set foot in public places again.
His best bet is to plead guilty and shut up!
As for the God Jazz;' Its typical of "Criminals facing jail time " ...I found God ...
Paris found God -- but Lost him again after a few days of freedom.

She said that he made a mistake. Lies. Just like the lies he told everyone about himself. Now, he has his Mom lying for him. He did not make a mistake, he made several illegal lucrative money making deals that were high risk and high reward. Oops he got popped. If I talked 50 underage women into taking nude photos for money or stole thousands from 50 elderly people or stole fifty pieces of gums from fifty different stores or something else that is somewhat similar, then could you honestly say that it was a mistake. Nope. He is her evolutionary answer to the world.

Chances are she is as ignorant as he is. There would be a lot less trouble in the world today of proper parenting happened from Day 1 of a child's life. A few tears bawled out front of a million dollar house for the benefit of the press is too little, too late. She raised this animal.
Edit: Love the fact someone disagreed with me! Fool!
