I do have to say that I'm a die hard Flyers fan, and I'm puttin last seasons record behind me... I'm gonna stick with the Islanders... That seems to be the trend, and I haven't really heard anything good from that end of the pond... but as long as the Flyers improve I'm a happy camper, and we'll see at the end of the season.

Who will be the worse of the two is beyond me. With the lottery system for the draft. The worse record is no longer what it used to be.

Well, like almost everyone else, I'd agree Phoenix has the worst team going into next season. Unproven goaltending (of late anyway), injury prone defense, lots of inexperience up front. However, I do think that the LA Kings have a chance to contend for the playoffs, if they can avoid the injury bug. They have some very talented forwards in Frolov, Cammaleri, Kopitar, as well as Nagy. They have a surprisingly solid defense as well, with Blake, Stuart, Preissing, Visnovsky and Jack Johnson. They also have a secret goalie weapon by the name of Jason LaBabera. He had a very, very good year in the minors last year, but LA couldn't call him up because he would've been plucked off waivers. I fully expect him to be the starter this year.
My pick for the worst record is the Oilers, because they play in the NW division, where the other 4 teams should all make the playoffs, if they avoid injury and Budaj plays like he did at the end of last year. the Oilers have to play Vancouver, Colorado, Calgary, and Minnesota a combined 32 times. Looking at Edmonton's roster of no Chris Pronger (basically killed them last season), no Ryan Smyth, and no Jason Smith (there goes all the leadership), I'd wouldn't be shocked if the Oilers end up losing 25 of those 32 games. Oilers fans should be hoping John Tavares is allowed to be eligible for the draft next year.

I'm going to go off the beaten path here a little and say Nashville. They lost a lot of guys over the summer and Sullivan is now out for a long time. They are my dark horse for being really bad anyway.
I also think that Edmonton will struggle. Columbus will probably be bad too but I think they did OK in the second half last season.

The coyotes. When a team picks up Mike York with the intentions of starting him on the first line and are expecting him to get 50 points, you know there's something wrong. Anyways, they got nobody and their goaltending is also horrible.

New York Islanders. They've got nothing but DiPietro and they have to face the Penguins, Rangers, and Devils eight times a season.
