I believe that you can be an asset to the company by doing the following:
1. Be punctual in going to work everyday.
2.Be diligent in every assignment given by your supervisor.
3. Be sure to know all the that the job requires of you.
4. Be cooperative and maintain a harmonious relationship with co-employees and supervisor.
5. Be ready to work on special projects or to assist with other work necessary or important to the operation of your company.
6.Work as a member of a team because your company will prosper when you and your co-employees work together in harmony.

That answer depends on your position and he company that you work for.
You are an asset if you do your job conscientiously and well. have a good attendance and lateness record and do not cause dissension with other employees.
If you have a higher level type of job they are more interested in your creativity your bringing new products and new customers and how your skills fit into the management team in addition to the above.

Apply for a managers position and channel your knowledge into improving the business .
