Well, as far as graphics go it is awesome, plus you finally have the ability to edit players equipment, numbers, etc... on the next gen version. The weapon system to me seems pointless, anybody who knows anything about the NFL knows which standout players can be considered "weapons"... I don't need an icon of a ball and chain under Champ Bailey to know that he's a shutdown corner. The actualy gameplay itself is pretty cool now as EA as added in quite a few new animations like the "spectacular catch" and hitstick version 2.0.
A lot of people will complain about turnovers like 3-5 interceptions and 2-3 fumbles a game but its all about how you YOURSELF play the game. The game forces you to play smart this year, you can no longer just sling the ball to a receiver that is under double coverage and expect him to come down with the ball as it will be swatted down or picked off every time. When running the ball you need to actually do things like cover the ball up so you don't fumble it as you can actually see the defense attempting to strip the ball from your RB. As long as you actually scan the field and look for the open receiver and don't try to truck/spin/juke your way to the endzone, turnovers are very realistic.
My only complaint with this game is the fact that there is absolutely no "grey area" when it comes to difficulty. Rookie, Pro, and All Pro are entirely too easy and you will blow out the computer 52-0 in every game and All Madden is extremely difficult as the computer will run all over you the entire game. The AI is like playing against a super computer, every receiver you pass to is immediately surrounded by 4 defenders and 9 times out of 10 if your receiver doesn't come down with the ball, a defender is. There is absolutely no pocket presense as you have a grand total of about 2-3 seconds to find an open receiver every play after hiking the ball before you're being bombarded by defenders which ultimately results in a high number of turnovers each game. On defense you are completely shut down by the CPU, getting past the computer's o-line is like trying to squeeze your hand into the center of the toilet paper roll... it just doesn't happen. Whether the opposing team's running back is LaMont Jordan or Larry Johnson he will put up 100+ yards and 2-3 touchdowns like its nothing, not to mention the fact that every CPU controlled quarterback plays like Peyton Manning. Last but not least, while you couldn't complete a succesful bomb down field if your life depended on it the computer will put on the Culpepper & Moss show all day long no matter which QB & WR combo it controls.
Now the final and overall most frustrating part of this game on All Madden... I have saved for last. After 2 weeks of playing on All Madden I have finally gotten the hang of running an offense and defense against the CPU. While some times the CPU will still completely blow me out, usually it is a pretty fair battle for the most part. But the thing that will frustrate you the most about this game is the fact that the computer seriously CHEATS to win. For example, this has happened to me more than 1 time but the most recent one was a game I was having between Green Bay (me) and Miami. I was totally killing the Dolphins, we're talking I had picked off of Trent Green 3 times and returned each one for a TD and for all but 2 times had sent their offense off the field 3 and out. Now winning the game 35-21 with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter and suddenly Brett Favre who had been spot on every pass, over threw Donald Driver resulting in an interception, the defender then proceeded to juke every one of my players and return the ball 93 yards for a touchdown... whatever I'm still ahead by 7 points. The computer kicks off with 1:34 left in the game and Noah Herron coughs up the ball on my 15 yard line on the return. Trent Green who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat suddenly leads a 3 play drive 15 yards into the endzone hitting every receiver spot on resulting in a game tying touchdown. Now that they have tied the game I get the ball back with 58 seconds left and no time to move down the field so I sling the ball 2 times resulting in 2 incompletions and decide just to run out the clock and go to overtime. I win the toss and get the ball first and start moving down the field, it comes to the point where its 3rd and 4 and I need 10 yards to be in range for my kicker so I run the ball and am stopped to 4th and inches. I decide to go for it and hand off to my fullback and what do you know the defense makes a stand and stops my fullback on 4th and inches and gets the ball back. Next thing you know, play action pass and Trent Green hits Ted Ginn Jr. who takes the ball 74 yards down the field to score... game over.
Long story short its a great game but will have you considering suicide after about 2 games on All Madden. If I were you I would buy the game, but be prepared for the battle of your life when you decide to take the field on All Madden.

i cant stand the 360 version (i play my friends, cuz i have the original xbox) the way they run is really gay, its slow, theyre upper body doesnt move as much as people in real life do.
the controls are the worst thing ever, u use the R trigger to run rather than the A button. theres hurdle this year, and all the other controls are shifted around. otherwise its the same exact thing as before, they took too much time on the graphics and crap to make a good game. But u can do a bunch of mini drills where all u hear is the players breathing hard
i see much imporvemnet in the original xbox version, im glad i still have an xbox

It's as good as Madden 07, with prettier graphics and an up-to-date roster.
Come to think of it, the same thing could be said of Maaden 06, and 05, 04, 03, 02, 01....

its not really much different than 07...the gameplay is pretty much the same (the new 'weapons' feature is soo damn complicated, its not worth using)...the texturing of the game is fantastic...the crowds are awful renderings, and they didn't create soldier field correctly. they brought back create a team (but its not enjoyable at all)...the interfaces look different, but if you already have 07 (and dont plan to play multiple franchise seasons warranting draft classes from NCAA), don't buy it
but, if you do have NCAA 08 and want to have draft classes and/or feel it necessary to have updated rosters...then buy it...
personally, i wish i hadn't bought it (and i do have it for 360)

i dont have it, but based upon rumors, it's virtually the same as 07. plus, with devin hester being the first 100 speed and not even being in the top 10 for the 40 yard dash makes the game more of a joke.
