I had my baby shower when I was 35 weeks along.

I am one of those people who are against having a baby shower before the baby is born! Wait until the baby is here and then someone should put on a shower a couple of weeks later! Then everyone that wouldn't normally get to see your baby all the time...gets to meet the wee one! I am a pessimist I guess! Why get a bunch of mint green and yellow things when you could have blue or pink?
I guess the only time I would agree with it is if the expecting mother/parents don't have any extra money to go around to buy a few things to prepare for the baby coming. That's the only time. Most people get hand-me-downs that are good enough to start out with don't they? I had tons of clothes given to me through family and friends....guess I was fortunate! We are going through this with my step-daughter right now....one of her aunts wants to have the baby shower before the babies(twin boys) are born and i just would rather not....but it's not my call! I am buying clothes at yard sales and stuff that I will give her after. I did already give her a whole bunch of stuff for newborns...but it has been handed down for years in my family...and still in good shape!

Any time really. But most women have the shower around 7-9 months, or after the baby is born.

Usually between 6-7 months. It's far enough that the pregnancy is well-established, and not too far along that you're likely to be uncomfortable the whole time, or to miss it because you're having the baby. My cousin just had her shower today at 37 weeks pg and was in labour the whole day.

My family gave me a baby shower when I was around 7 1/2 months pregnant, and my in-laws gave me one when I was 8 months pregnant. I would say anywhere between 6 1/2 and 8 months preggo is good...

Most showers are given in the last 8 - 10 weeks of pregnancy. Some people deliver early, so you don't want to wait too long. I'd think anything sooner than the 3rd trimester would be too early.

It's more fun to have it when you are showing a lot, but not too late just in case you have the baby early. A safe bet is 32 weeks. No later than 34 though, just in case, or you may be too uncomfortable. You may want to wait until you know if it's a boy or girl, if you are finding out. Good luck!

Well that relay depends on weather or not you plan to find out the sex of your baby if so you wont get any unwanted or need gifts lol. I think anywhere around the 6mth stage is good as morning sickness has subsided and your use to the pregnancy and not so tired anymore

I had both of my showers 1 month before my due date. Most of the showers I have been to are also about 1 month away from due date.

Most of the showers I have attended have been in the sixth or seventh month of pregnancy. I guess that's considered the safe period, and that way you still have time to get anything for the little one that you didn't already have, or receive as a gift.
