"Black Magic Woman" is a song written by Peter Green that first appeared as a Fleetwood Mac single in various countries in 1968, subsequently appearing on the 1969 Fleetwood Mac compilation albums English Rose (US) and The Pious Bird Of Good Omen (UK). It became a classic hit by Santana in 1970, reaching #4 in the U.S. charts, after appearing on their Abraxas album, becoming more closely associated with Santana than Fleetwood Mac. In 2005, the song was covered by ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Snowy White on his album The Way It Is. This song will be featured in the upcoming game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

I guess it's Fleetwood Mac, based on consensus --
(only to ask: hey ramboweasel, I still have I have the 'THC' question in mind, what IS the answer?;)
anyway, current item: I know & like both bands, & remember Abraxas when it came out -- Carlos Santana still 'alive & well', c40 years after Woodstock...

Title Black Magic Woman
Artist Fleetwood Mac
Album English Rose (1969)
Jumping At Shadows (1985)

Got a black magic woman
I got a black magic woman
Yes, I got a black magic woman
Got me so blind I can't see
But she's a black magic woman
And she's tryin' to make a devil out of me

Don't turn your back on me baby
Don't turn your back on me baby
Yes, don't turn your back on me baby
You're messin' around with your tricks
Don't turn your back on me baby
'Cause you might just break up my magic stick

You got your spell on me baby
You got your spell on me baby
Yes, you got your spell on me baby
You're turning my heart into stone
I need you so bad, magic woman, I can't leave you alone

Yes, I need you so bad
Well, I need you darling
Yeah, I need you darling
Yes, I want you love me
I want you love me
Whoa, I want you love me, ah
Whoh, yeah
Oh, whoa, baby
Yes, I need your love
Oh, I need your love so bad
I want you love me
