To find out if someone has PCOS they rule out other things like Diabetes because some of the other conditions and diseases like Diabetes and Cushings can cause infertility. Then after all those tests come back as being negative (meaning the other diseases and conditions aren't causing the problem) they can say it's PCOS.

I have PCOS but not the kind of symptoms you mentioned. I would recommend consulting an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relate to hormones) if you haven't already to have them run the full thyroid panel (most doctors only run two tests to determine thyroid function and sometimes it can be missed). They can also help you find out if you have PCOS.

hi there, I have POCS but have not had problems getting preg. In fact just about every form of contraception has failed me. But I feel for you. There are a number of things you can do. Diet can play a big part in things, there is a very good book on diet for POCS. You can ask your Dr for an ultra sound of your ovaries. This can be done at anytime, well here in Australia that's how it works. The ultrasound will show abnormalities in size of your ovaries. I hope these links are helpful. I wish you all the best.
