This is a wonderful forum and I think you will find what you are looking for there. It is still fairly new but there are some very knowledgeable sources there that answer questions pretty promptly. Do check it out:

Well, you could continue to post questions here, but if you have specific topics, or people who've helped you in the past, check their profiles (click on the pictures with their names beside their answer, go to the top 10 answerers in that forum, or add them as a contact) Many of us have email or IM listings where you can contact us to let us know you have a quastion posted, and we will answer as soon as possible (although we do have jobs and take vacations, so even we may not always be available!).
Another web site I like is this one: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ - they have one general address for asking questions, then the answers are divided and posted by topic, along with a lot of professionally written articles. There are areas for freshwater aquaria, saltwater aquaria, brackish aquaria, aquatic plants/planted tanks, ponds, aquatic businesses, and aquatic science, so you should be able to find just about anything there - I often post links to their articles with my answers.

I belong to a great forum. There is not an overwhelming number of members, but you will get almost instant replies. We have loads of knowledgeable members who are just waiting to help you out. It is still growing, and can only get better. You can use this, or the link in my profile.

Some of those are geared towards specific fish types, but they usually have a general freshwater section, and lots of people that are familiar with lots of stuff :)
