but isn't in reality we aren't really equal:

we both are different physically, mentally and emotionally.
if we are equal why would i have to open the door for the ladies?
if we are equal why men are more responsible to pay child support?
if we are equal why men are required to sign for the Army after turning 18?
is your father the same as your mother?
will you protect your sister similar like your brother?
and if we are truly equal, then how come no woman become president for the USA until now?

in reality, are we equal?

"different" and "equal" are two separate things.
we were created equal.
we typically play different roles...
and both are of equal importance to our society.

Equal doesn't mean "the same." It means that all have the right to pursue life, liberty and happiness. Each has the opportunity to be the best that they can. Each, man and woman gets respected and valued for the unique human they are.
You could ask the same question about 1/2 the human population...are all men equal? Are all women equal to each other? Some men are good at sports and others are good at computer programing etc. Some women prefer the life of stay at home mom and others would like to travel the world and run businesses. Yet despite our differences from each other we are equal :-)

we are equal but in different ways -

we are physically different ( most acses) for childbirth -
mentally different ( most cases ) because of how we are raised
emotionally different ( most cases ) again because of how we are rasied
my mother paid child support for two children when she was taking care of two others by the same man
- and most of the time the woman gets the kids - making it the mans responsibility
in the us - you dont have to sign up for the army at 18 - and when they do have a draft - its not all 18 year old men - they take the eldest son unless there is only one and there are other stipulations - this was always done in the past becasue woman were to stay home and do other things ( this was a law it has nothing to do with equality )
my mother is actually stronger than my father
yes i would protect my sister like my brother - ( when a man hit my sister i started swinging on his *** )
no woman has become president yet because no woman has ever ran for presidency in the us - ( but we do have queens in england )

so we are equal but in different ways -

we are equal in some ways...like jobs cant turn women down just cause they think its a mans job cause it's sexist.

but the things you list yea were different in those ways but thats how are society is...

1. I protect my sister just as much as my brother does and my sister protects me probably more than my brother does.
2. a women is running for president...Men just don't think women should.
3. some women do have to pay child support it just depends on where and who the kid wants to be with
4. I hold doors open for other people including guys and guys do it cause they have manners and not even most guys do it

Women want all the conveniences of being equal with men but expect special treatment at the same time:

1. Opening doors for them
2. Not smacking the crap out of them when they deserve it
3. Pulling out their chairs/scooting them in

...anything that makes them more comfortable - they're all for tipping the equality scales in their advantage

Men & women are "different" - not equal.

More people need to realize these differences & learn to appreciate them as differences rather than personal attacks on their gender.

Gee, everybody knows that men rule and why is that men have been keeping women down only because they are physically stronger that's the only reason,Lets hope Hillary Clinton will put a stop to that, she is a very strong woman.

Males are SIGNIFICANTLY better, anyone who does not agree is clearly blind. I can not believe the amount of feminazi myths I hear on this board such as "Women get paid less than men" or "Employers can say they don't want to hire women." The worst part is, even though society advances because of men, in the west here (USA, UK, France, German, Sweden, etc.) we are treated like garbage.

well of course we're not treated equal in this crazy world ..
obviously people believe in ladies first, obviously men usually get paid more than women, and etc etc etc

but the thing is that we were created equal.

Total equality would be boring. Equal treatment under the law is enough.

Men and women are different in many respects. How other people treat women - including how the legislators do so in the laws they write - is not your problem. Just be concerned with how you treat them.
