This is for an art project. The concept is showing the relationship between opposites that can never (physically) meet, such as sunrise and sunset, or birds and fish. That's two... I need at least four more pairings.

Thanks!

The longing for a place we have never been and for sights we have never seen even as we realize we will never go there or see that. For me this is the County Cork in Ireland and I am 66 and not likely to travel there. For my sister it is to know a indian life that no longer exists. For some it is the passionate love of wild Bears or Wolves best never realized by most of us.
The deep silent fog that rolls across a mountain pass in the early dawn and makes us feel like our ancestors are present and stareing at us and all our gadgets and noise makers.
The modern day desire to have mythical fairy-folk tiptoeing through our gardens.
Mythical Wizards and modern scientists consorting with each other over the meaning of black holes.
Stone age man with chisel and tablet looking over the shoulder of a computer Geek.
Flint knapers and modern day weapon makers.
Opposites that would be dramatic.
Ice in the center of a fire, Rain dripping off of drought weithered corn. Sunlight trying to reach in through the mouth of a cave. Ducks shooting at a V formation of hunters.
By the way many birds do dive for fish.

Blind Owl, think of it this way. Religion is like looking for a black cat in a dark room, at the least, very difficult to put your hand on it. On the other hand Philosophy is looking for the black cat in the in a dark room, and finding it. While many religious enigmas are being sought by faith with little or no success, Philosophy trough the process of search for truth has offered answer to the mysteries and enigmas of man. In essence "like the opposite poles of a magnet which can never meet one another" is only true if it is only one magnet, for if there were more than one they will attract each other, for as you recall opposite poles do attract each other. Question solved.

Birds and fish, huh? Well, they sure do meet when a pelican comes up with a mouthful from the ocean.

Beware of false opposites!

Many things are different, yes.... the concept of the opposite is another thing altogether.

Birds and fish can meet. But the sun and moon we hope never meet. The equator and the artic circle. Space and the center of the earth.
