Cowher would be a good choice, but does he still want to coach? Madden was a stupid answer. As for Michael Vick and the Dawg Pound. I truly think any team that takes Vick after his prison term is playing with fire.

To the person who mention about the hottest college coaches; the going rate on college coaches going pro hasn't worked out. I personally would like to see either Marty come back or Mike Martz become the next coach. His offensive schemes made Pro Bowl QB's out of Warner and Bulger.

I think the top name on a very short list is Bill Cowher. He's a proven winner, has a Super Bowl ring, coaches the type of team that Cleveland wants (and needs to have in the AFC North), plus there is a history there. Cowher was a Cleveland Brown in his playing days, plus he was a coach there under Marty Schottenheimer. Cowher would make an excellent choice, assuming he's interested, the Browns have the money to throw at him, and the team does badly enough that they can safely remove the current coaching staff without a locker room revolt.

Who says Romeo gets fired? Where are you going to find a better NFL Coach? Thats the problem with a lot of franchises they put alot of the blame on the coach, when half the time its the front office and salary cap that screw these teams. The Browns have made some good moves, but have been ravaged by injury. The offense has a bright future; but trading away the entire d-line a couple seasons ago was one of the stupidest moves I've ever seen.

If Romeo does get fired. Jon Gruden could be an option. If he has another bad year in Tampa he could be fired. Marty Schottenheimer or a young defensive prodigy like Ron Rivera could be another nice option.

Romeo Crennel. The management in Cleveland is enamored with Crennel right now because he is a product of Belicheck. Right now, Weis and Crennel could go winless and Notre Dame and Cleveland would probably give them an extension. Crennel wouldn't have drafted Quinn knowing that he would have to rebuild unless he knew that he was going to have the time. Also, the fact that they gave up next year's first round draft pick to get him says that Phil Savage is behind Crennel all the way.

Maybe if the players revolted and started asking for Crennel to be removed, they might look at replacing him.

As for Cowher, I got two places other than Cleveland, Carolina and Washington. Carolina is right there at his home. Plus they would be willing to open up their pockets a little to get him there. Daniel Snyder would be willing to open his pockets even more. And to combat Carolina's home field advantage, Snyder would let Cowher use his private jet to fly Bill back home every week. He would probably even move the team to N.C. State's facilities during the off-season so Cowher could be home then also.

Waaaaay to early to tell.

You don't know which college coach(es) will become a hot commodity by winning the national championship or having an otherwise fantastic season.

You don't know which NFL coordinators are going to become hot commodities in '07.

You don't know how many other NFL teams will be searching for head coaches, and which teams. Chances are there will be several. The Browns would have to compete with them for top-notch names. Unless there is a Browns' assistant who is the heir-apparent, you don't know who the top candidates will be.

We should hire Bill Cowher, you know he won't stay retired for long. And Mike Vick as a QB after he gets out of jail. Dawg Pound will love him.
