Depending on the position, it is a must if you can.
If you're not watching her face how do you know what is making her feel good and what isn't? (unless she screams)
I think it shows trust security etc, if you can't look at someone then I think you have relationship problems, my opinion anyway.

Well, I'm not a guy, but my husband has always looked me in the eyes during sex. At first I thought it was strange, but after I got used to it, it became very emotional. If you are in love and your spouse does this, it can make for a VERY good time in bed.

its hard for me to keep eye contact when she isnt even looking at me, because when im giving it to her here eyes are rolling back.
