Only you know the answer to that... age is just one factor... how mature are you and how mature is he???? Have you considered a long engagement???

I was married 3 days after I turned 20, and on my way to divorce court by 21. As I look back at it, and compare the way I thought then versus now, the difference is striking!

I'm happy for you that you found someone you feel so strongly about. True love is a gift and should be treated as such.

With that in mind, most of us would think twice before opening our Christmas presents in July. Get engaged and commit to each other all that you like. Save the marriage vows for a few more years. If it's truly love, there will be no harm in waiting.

Give yourselves time to grow emotionally, and, this is a big one in a marriage, FINANCIALLY. Before you walk to the alter, make sure both of you are on a sound emotional and financial footing.

So, yes, I think 18 is too young. Being patient in this will reward you if it's meant to be. If it isn't, you'll wish you had never taken the vow.

Good Luck!

Wow. This may sound kind of wierd coming from someone who is younger then you. But wow, wait at least until you are able to drink.lol. But it depends how long you have been together. And your class, like high class (rich), middle class, lower class, cuz you know a lot a guys are gold diggers. But if you truely feel he is the one out of the whole world, then go for it but keep in mind, getting married so young can get in the way in your future. Good Luck!

Get engaged if you want but wait on the wedding for a few more years. There is nothing wrong with wearing a ring, and calling him your fiance for awhile. There is no time limit on engagements. Just wait till you both are finacially ready, emotionally ready, and in all honesty-if you can't buy alcohol, maybe you should hold off on getting married. But as far as getting engaged goes, do it and have fun. CONGRATS!!

I got married when i was 18, my husband was 21. That was nearly 6 fantastic years ago.

There is no right or wrong age to get married. You can choose when you are ready. It is different for EVERYONE. You will know in you heart if you are ready or not.

And because i know people will comment, and say i was too young. let me toss in a couple of my old responses to similar questions..

It has been wonderful being married to him and I wouldnt trade it for anything. I dont think weve had a harder time than any other married couple. I dont think because of our ages that we were destined to have issues.

I dont plan on getting divorced from my husband, nor do i see any reason to. I dont think marrying young prevented me from growing up and experiencing life. I just experienced it in different ways for other people. I still am going to college, go out with my friends, im even in a sorority. Its just different how i choose to participate in those things. My sorority isn't like a Greek house i live in, its a group of women who are all studying the same field and help around the community and share friendship. I go out with friends, but instead of going to nightclubs or bars. I go out to coffee or thrift shopping. I go to college, i take both traditional and online classes. But i dont live in a dorm, i live in our home.

My husband also attends a college, is in a fraternity, and has friends that he spends time with. His buddies come over once a month to play xbox.

You have to live your life for yourselves and no one else. If you are ready and want to spend the rest of your life with him. Then the choice is all yours.

We arent playing house. We are responsible homeowners. And for people that will think, i wasn't pregnant when we got married, wasnt running away from home , didnt get married for any other reason except that i love my husband.

We in fact still dont have children (yet, soon we hope), because we wanted to wait until we owned our own home, and were more financially sound.

WAY too young. What's the rush? Keep seeing each other but you have lots of life ahead of you and those experiences can change you - and what you want.
