She is such a sweetheart, your perfect mom, loves to cook, loves to make sure everyone else is OK before herself...I just wondered if anyone had any cute, original perfect gift ideas, something to make, buy, put together...

A pretty plant in a hand painted (by you, of course) pot would be really pretty, or a cute assortment of things in a pretty purse she'd like (lotions, chap stick/lipstick, that type of thing). Perhaps something nice for the kitchen. Go to the farmers market or a local grocer and make a cute care package of ingredients and spices she doesn't normally use... maybe find a recipe for you two to cook together! You could make her jewelry (check out Micheal's for ideas). The lists go on. Good luck! She is lucky to have such a sweet daughter in law!

When I was married, my mother-in-law was every wife's worst nightmare. If I ever wanted to give her anything, it was a shovel to dig her grave with. Then I wanted to put her in it. It sounds as though you have the exact opposite. BE GRATEFUL! Wives who are mothers have to work so hard all the time. The best gift you could give her would be a day just for her. Pamper her with a spa day. Don't let her do a thing for herself all day. When she goes to bed that night, make sure it's on a complete new bedding set THAT SHE HASN'T SEEN BEFORE! Good Luck & Blessings

I would send the woman flowers--a nice bouquet, roses or her favorite flower especially if that's something she doesn't receive often.

You could give her take her with you for a massage, facial, etc. at a day spa---that would be luscious and give both of you special time together.

You could get take her shopping, have lunch and just make a day for the two of you this way.

Go to antique shops if that's something she likes to do. I've given you ideas that would mean a lot to me and I hope they helped. Good Luck!!!

I gave this poem to my mother in law....It went something like this, (From memory. I cant find it again now!)

You are the mother I recieved,

The day I wed your son.

And I just want to thank you mom,

For all that you have done.

You've given me a graciuos man,

With whom I'll share my life.

You are his loving mother,

And I his lucky wife.

You used to pat his little head,

And now I hold his hand.

You raised in love a little boy,

And gave to me a man.
