Ive been taking Depo for 9 months now, meaning ive had 3 shots of it so far. But for the past 3 months since my last shot ive been bleeding every single day. And this isnt a small amount. Its like im starting a new period everyday with large amounts of blood.

I thought that depo would either stop periods all togather or i would only have a period every 3 months?? Not EVERYDAY!!

Is this normal? Or is depo just not working for me and i should try something else??

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! I took the depo for 9 months and decided to get off it...6 months went by with no period, which should have come back after the 4th month og not getting the shot, so i went to the doctor and he got me an appt. with a OBGYN, the very next day i began to bleed so we cancled the appt. that was about 6 months ago and ive been bleeding ever since. I have another OBGYN appt soon but who knows... ok so to your problem... if you got the shot and started bleeding soon after and have been for the 3 months b4 your next shot appt., then i have no idea...but if you had your last shot and its been close to 3 months and the bleed had recently started then its just time for another shot... either way discuss it with your OBGYN to consider all the posibilities... Good luck =]]

The depo shot nearly killed me. I had one shot and bled the entire time. I was bruised so badly from everyday life the Dr. thought I was being abused. My legs and arms were black and blue. It turns out I was very badly anemic. I was put on birth control pills to try and stop the bleeding. It took a while, but it finally stopped. I would not recommend the shot to anyone!!

Odds are Depo just isn't working for you. I tried it once but I kept bleeding, too. I'm on ortho-cyclen and I love it. I know exactly what day and time I am going to start and I love that. Discuss it with your doctor and he or she will probably suggest a different birth control method. Good luck!

Its typical of depo to do this to women.

IMO its a horrible drug, I'd find another form right away.

I was on it for four years and am so glad I'm off of the thing.

Google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out its reviews on http://www.rateitall.com and see just how many women have serious negative side affects to this drug.
