I spend my life thinking rather than saying and doing. Because of this i dont have alot of close friends and ive never been in a relationship. Some describe me as shy but i prefer to think that a merely have nothing to say. I cant really talk about anything personal with anyone and I feel like nobody REALLY knows me, the real me. How can i try to be a bit more open?

You might want try writing it out (your thoughts) on index cards and then
saying it out loud in front of your family
or in front of your best freinds for
a start to jump start your verbal jestures. I wonder if you would make a great
fictional writer, (example love stories
like on soap operas)

I used to have the same problem.

I know it is hard to do,but force yourself to say what you are thinking to someone . If there is someone that you like, share your thoughts with them. Even if you only talk for a minute, that is better than nothing.Keep trying! Eventually,it will be very easy to express your opinions.

That's what I did,and it seemed to work for me.For a long time I would basically only talk to my parents.I would say a few words to a couple other people, but that was about it. I just didn't think I could actually talk to anyone for any long period of time. Now I can talk for hours to people that I like. I still have a problem when it comes to talking with more than one person at a time.If I am talking one on one with a person,I am fine.If a second person joins the conversation,I just shut down and shut up.I am getting better though!

So give that a try.If that doesn't work maybe you should contact someone that can give you some professional advice.

I'm like that - I don't feel like anybody knows the real me, and I've never been in a relationship either. I can't imagine being in one as I'm not sure I'm capable of it.

However, I don't think it's really possible to know what a person is like inside - no matter how much they blabber on - because you can't get inside their heads and experience the same thoughts/feelings. You can get some insight, but not much.

Anyway I'm not really answering your question am I? It may be that you have social phobia or something, and if it becomes a problem or already is, I guess you should seek general psychological help (something that I'm in the process of at the moment).

Good luck.
