I think this question is difficut to answer because most people will tend to side with their local hosts...

WEEI in Boston is the #1 sports radio station in the country based on ratings and is my personal favorite, however, a person from Chicago or Miami wouldn't know much about the station in general.

I'm a fan of Dennis & Callahan in the Morning (Meter Sucks) but I listen while I'm working to all the shows.

WEEI does get the best guests on a weekly basis, guys like:
on a Patriots Monday:
Tom Brady
Bill Billichek
Richard Seymour
Teddy Bruschi
Rodney Harrison
Ty Warren
Peter King
and sometimes Robert Kraft

During Baseball Season:
Curt Schilling
Terry Francona
Larry Lucchino
Ken Rosenthal
and often they'll get the "Player of the game" on Wednesday.

Others:
Wit Grousbeck (Celtics partial owner)
The current Bruins Coach (changes annually)
Danny Ainge (Celtics GM)
and other sportswriters around the country where news is happening.

I have to say that I agree with most of the previous comments. As for Gaylord Corporation, I had NO idea that was what happened. I can't imagine country music without the Grand Ole Opry. Thank goodness it's still going. I liked the Dixie Chicks until they went to another country and started bashing the President of the USA. They are certainly entitled to their opinion but they should have kept it to themselves. I don't know if they have split or not and quite frankly I don't care....I will never buy any of their CDs.' This was a great question, by the way.

Colin Cowherd is a self-involved blowhard. Mikey Adams is funny and is not insulting to callers. I would go with WEEI. Also they have programs by Curt Schilling and Bill Bellichek

I guess depends on where you live. Here in So Cal during the day ESPN 710 is really good and controversial (thanks to Michael Vick) it has been real good lately.
But after games I like A Martinez on Dodger Talk. He does a great job because Dodger fans dont give a .... what they say, they will say exactly what is on thier minds. Most other stations monitor and dont allow anything but positive callers through.

With Dan Patrick leaving ESPN, sports talk radio has taken a big step back (and he took Olbermann with him). Locally, in the KC area, I like Soren Petro.
