is it wrong for a woman to recieve 50% in a divorce and then recieve monthly payments?

Why does a woman deserve anything?

Im not married nor have I ever been. I just find it the idea of paying your ex to be appalling.

Are you talking about alimony or child support? Most states have abandoned the idea of alimony.

You should have read up a little on the concept of marriage BEFORE you got married.

I'm not sure I should chime in here, but will give it a whirl. The percentage is fair, period - what you acquire during the marriage should be split. I make more than my husband and think it is quite fair our earnings to date be split. Now, as far as alimony goes - it depends on what the spouse seeking it did during the marriage. Maybe he put her through school and helped finance the living during that time? Sure, there might be compensation. And say he stayed home with the kids for one to seventeen years to raise them while she went out to work. Are you saying he deserves nothing for raising those children while she persued the career with the 401K? The alimony is intended to get the recipient on their feet - maybe part of the training the ex got - but surely not all. Fair? I'd say not fair enough.

The basis is that each is suppose to contribute to the partnership and should it split , the split should be equitable .

Often the man wastes tons of $$$$ on overpriced toys he rarely uses ( boats , atvs , golf equipment ) .
If the man was the biggest waster . then the woman should get more if they split .

that is tottaly wrong, one of the bad think in USA the women has more rights here, because they say women should care of her kids and same time work,so you have to give her 50% and montly, worng wrong. that is why arabian Gulf is perfect women has no rights.

yes it is wrong...... the woman should get 85% and the attorney should get the other 15% alimony the screwing you get for the screwing you got lol
