Stress is a response to a situation so I think the best way to remedy it is to either change your response to the stressful situations or to remove them from your life. Most of us have things in our life that are difficult to deal with however for some reason certain things stress out certain people. This means that all of these people are responding differently to roughly the same things. Have a look at your day and identify the things that stress you out the most and try to organize your day in a way that will minimize this stress. When confronted with a stressful citation. Try not to slip into an autopilot response that is 'this is going to be bad' or 'here we go again' and just deal with what is happening at the time. Don't read into things too much.

The following things will definitely help also:

1. Meditation
2. Exercise (Yoga would be great as previously mentioned)
3. Good Nutrition
4. Good posture
5. Drink fresh clean water all day
6. Take a 5 minute break from work every hour where possible.

You could try yoga. This is a great way to relief stress and back pain without using any type of pills. You can also try some lotions that are geared towards stress relief. A great one is "The healing garden" brand. They offer all types of relax therapy and the even have one to help with sleeping. If you get headaches from all the stress you can try lavender lotion or candles. Lavender scent is great for headaches.
If you are a man and don't want to use these "smell good" lotions during the day try them at night. Start applying them when you get off work and continue to apply ever couple of hours or when you notice the smell has dissipated.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

The best remedy is to remove whatever causes the stress and backaches.
I'd recommend seeing a chiropractor and eating properly. A body doesn't work properly when it isn't being fed adequately or the spine isn't in alignment. Vitamins don't increase appetite, they are there to help fill deficiencies.

Try massaging your tired achy muscles. Or better yet, go to a massage therapist and have them to remove your stress and muscle tension. It'll take about an hour to get you right and you'll get better with time and return visits.
