Have you asked a question and/or reviewed a question pertaining to a specific issue where someone from "the other side" answered it profoundly? I'm not talking about smart, sarcastic or callous responses. I am referring to the answers that truely shed new light on a position which you vehemently and staunchly opposed?
I am not asking if they changed your views, simply put I am asking has it ever really made you stop and think about your OWN position on said issue?
Thoughts?

Of course I have, if it was intelligent and backed up there claims with factual references. Sadly when people debate on Y answers they spit out so called facts and then leave no references or anything. If it was college they would have an F!
Also when I asked a question a conservative or liberal try to categorize my answers and say its a liberal or conservative issue which I am neither. I just believe in what I think is right. People that are to far left or right just end up bashing and not even answering the question. I dont care what any person is, because I am sure I can find common ground with anyone.

You sound such as you're Democrat with some Republican leanings. i'm the comparable way; no longer completely one or the different. That reported, i think of Obama is the plenty extra advantageous option to be President. He would not have the a hundred and fifty IQ such as you particular, yet then very few people do. in spite of the indisputable fact that, he's a extremely smart individual, has finished plenty in existence, and has run an incredible marketing campaign. Obama 08!

I have never witnessed a person from the other side providing such a great answer that it changed my mind, if that is what you are asking; however, I have read some awful good ones, that showed much more thought than most, and even though i disagreed, I had to give them a thumbs up.
usually when i give an answer that would do that for others, it gets reported and deleted, then i have to argue with yahoo for several days to repost it.

You betcha. Glen, you have access to my Q & A's, take some time and go through some of the questions that I've asked and read responses from all sides. Many of them are excellent and have been thought provoking, for certain.
Oft times, I'll give people best answer simply because they gave a great response, even though I didn't neccesarily agree with their point of view.

Glen, I am amused, and saddened that suthrnlyts gave a very forthright answer and someone gave her a thumbs down. Why would anyone disagree? Maybe they have had no luck, themselves, but really, a thumbs down. Now, I have read some of suthrnlyts' opinions, and I think if I had coffee with her, we would disagree on most things. But people, is not, is too, is a waste of time. I have to give props to Glen and suthrnlyts. Great question. Great answer.

I really would wish my questions would be answered with insight and thought, but all I get is nasty, callous answers without insight or thought.
It actually starts to get ridiculous after a while (example: the person above me)...

Actually, I haven't. Most people from the other side attacked my question without answering it, talking about what an idiot I was for asking it. Making me believe even firmer what the subject of the question asked.

Yes, I have, however, so far, I have'nt seen anything promising from the Liberals side on the major issues facing America.
It would be nice if they would stop, and TRUELY consider the Conservative side on Life.
The Genocide of the unborn is just so sad.

Yes, I have (though rarely, unfortunately on Answers. Here we seem to get the smart@sses and the burros!), and I appreciate it whenever anybody makes me think--whether I "like" what they say, or not.
