Plane is said to be a surface having length and width but no thickness.

It means plane is surface having only two dimensions. Thickness of a plane is zero.

3 points define a plane. 2 points define a line - and of course 1 point defines a point. If you draw lines between any three points, you can see that it makes a planar surface.
