I have started to use the patch since yesterday, and so far it is great. My question is, what happens when I am finished with the 8 week program and I go from 7mg of nicotine to nothing? Am I still going to experience withdrawls?

If i'm not mistaken there are steps in the strenght you go to that help "ween" yourself down. I thought it started with like an 8mg patch and then to a 4mg patch and finally a 2mg patch.

I did all 3 steps on the patch; 21 mg, 14 mg and 7mg . I experienced withdrawals with each decrease in nicotine. However, they only lasted a day or 2.

I have been smoke free for 5 months now and I still get the craving to smoke every day, but most of these episodes are very short lived, lasting at max 5 minutes. Deep breathing and drinking water helps me get through them.

Good luck to you!

My chemist let me stay on the same strength til i was ready to come down to the next level & i did that it was 7 months to come off ( ask your chemist or DR)
i cut the last couple of box patches in half & then into 4 & then the last box into real thin strips & kept them on with sticky tape
in other words i weened myself off fully & to start with i used gum as well for couple of weeks & then quit it & switched to ordinary pk gum & made my mouth sore from chewing all day long like a cow hahah & neally got hooked on it!
congratulations to you for quiting
be proud of yourself
it's been 13 months for me now, still at times get a craving for a minute but it does not last
think of all the money you save
i feel rich & have saved up heaps
& buy clothes & it pays for outings movies restaurants & i still have heaps over
$69 a week i save
good luck to you :) & never start again & when you think i will have a smoke (as that pops in your head for a while)
just say to yourself
"HEY i dont smoke anymore"
its all about the self TALK in YA head :)

You will have withdrawls. If you can get a Chantix prescription, it is a new drug that blocks the addiction.
