are you talking about today or next monday labor day? If it is next monday, bart or ferry are you only options really as the bay bridge is closed in both directions from 8pm friday through Tuesday 5am for construction.
it is opposite traffic direction in the afternoon, so car shouldn't be too bad. but really bart or ferry is probably the best less stress option.
and to poster Moe above, the bridge is not closed for two weeks. only labor day weekend.

The Bay Bridge is going to be completley closed down for the next two weeks. So you are out of luck there. You will have to take the Richmond Bridge over to the Golden Gate bridge, or the San Mateo Bridge and come up 101 to the city. Or you can still take BART!!!
