Your surroundings definitley affect your state of mind! IThe first time I set foot in AZ I felt like I was "home" even tho I'd never been there. I also liked my home in the woods in NY. I live about an hour outside of NYC & can't stand it. Too many people & there alwasy in a rush & nasty & obnoxious. Planning on moving west again to a nicer more open & calmer place so as to get myself back into a positive state of mind!

Having lived in California, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas, Texas, Utah, and Florida, I would say that Texas has a far more positive effect upon me than the others with Oklahoma running a very close second. I presently live in Texas and wouldn't want to live in any other area. It's the people and the friendly, down to earth, attitude.

I don't think the state has really affected my attitude about life, though I have only lived in three states. Think the secret is just in the friends you find and how you feel about what you are doing with your life. Though I think it does help to be close to family or to be in familiar locations sometimes.

No, I'm from Massachusettes, lived in CA, FL, Hawaii, and now Georgia. The good ole saying, where ever you are, there you are.....applies well. I was miserable in Hawaii though. Too expensive and the people are to easy going.

southern Ca. is a nice place to live....I just don't like the overcrowding...it has gotten really bad....more pollution because of more cars on the road...I have lived in Mich. & Texas....I still choose California...I like the people overall...there is a lot to do and let's face it...it is a happening place...that's why it's so overcrowded
