1. Insert the Windows XP CD.

2. Restart the computer. If the computer does not boot from the CD, you will have to enter it's BIOS (usually with an F1 or Del key), and change the boot order so it starts the CD first.

3. At setup, you will see an option to delete partitions. Press. "D", and then "L". Vista is gone. Tell it to format the drive. XP will now install.

A better guide, if I wasn't clear:

Why do you want to get rid of vista? Will a certain program or driver not run.
If you want to replace it with XP, put is the XP disc and restart the computer and boot from the cd. You may have to change a bios setting to boot from the cd. I think on dell you press f12 on startup, but check the computer manual just to make sure. Boot from the cd, and tell it to install. It will give you a list of partitions. Highlight the one you want and press D to delete the partition. Then format the partition and tell it to install windows xp.

Sorry I dont know any technical advice. I just got a NEW computer with Vista and Im not used to Vista and Ive read about certain little "tweeks" that still need to be done with Vista before anyone can really know if it is good or not....Im a natural skeptic. Im glad to finally have a computer but I just dont knowhow to deal with this new stuff. I DID laugh at your introduction, however! and Yes- I got ticked off at mine a few times too! Microsoft..(.or whoever..).released Vista WITHOUT knowing how it will ACTUALLY work out. ...sheesh.... (its true!)

Don't blame Vista, its obviously the clueless user. Instead of showing us all your limited vocabulary/computer skills why not post your "problem" you just might get better results.
