I guess he taught the American people not to elect someone like him again.

We can't really leave out Iraq because that has been an all-consuming (and controversial) part of the American political scene since shortly after Bush took office. Wars affect everything, from economy to education. If no attempt had been made to thwart terrorism, God only knows whether any of us would even be here to argue over it. Three thousand deaths in one place in one day is a horrifying number- how anyone can say there would have been no further terrorist activity if we'd just left well enough alone boggles my mind. I also find this interesting: when Bush was elected, his approval ratings were at 50%. Right around 9/11, they went up to 90% and remained there for four months. Today they are at 26%. We believed in our President when we could see the direct effects of terrorism; let's give him a little support now he's only got a limited time left in office.

But education is improving (the No Child Left Behind Act did, despite criticism, have some effect- where I live, anyway), and we have the world's largest GDP. We also have extremely high national debt, but the fact that our GDP remains high in spite of the war is fairly impressive. He also vetoed embryonic stem cell research, which to my mind is an extremely large step toward respect for human life in our government. (Stem cell research he definitely supports, as do I, but there is no reason to destroy embryos for that purpose when adult stem cells are the only ones that have proven useful after 20 years of research on both types.)

I wish I could think of at least one thing Bush has done to improve this country but I can't think of anything, as far as economy, the FED just pumped billions of printed dollars that came from thin air to keep the stock market stable, boarder's remain wide open, the price of goods are starting to double, gas prices keep climbing, health insurance has increased to the point that the middle class can't even afford it and the poor are being for-closed on with no hope insight. I am a Republican but the more I think about what the Bush Administration has done for the American people the more sick I become. Meanwhile you have Rush Limpball and sour puss Suan Hannity along with all radio talk show hosts and major media networks stating that America is in the best shape we have ever been in. Nothing could be further from the truth and if things don't start turning around soon, this country will be bankrupt by 2009.

You need to understand the mindset people have. In general, democrats tend to think of groups. The blacks, the poor, the uninsured...They look to a supreme leader. This is why they are so excited about Obama. He is their leader. The leader is expected to define party line. In general republicans look at the Individual. Each person is a separate being with his own point of view. We do not look for a leader, but a representative that we think holds views close to our own. We will never agree with someone 100%, but if they don't follow the basics, we have problems. There are many people to represent the republican party. One may be elected president, some as senator and representatives. and so on. Then we have the people that discuss our point of views and issues. Limbaugh, Levin, Boortz, Beck. They keep us informed (and entertained) on things the "news" tend to omit. What the left has trouble with is understanding the power of the individual. A group of individuals to produce the desired results. the problem comes when the people and politicians forget what is right and wrong. The republicans are trying to follow the democrats off the cliff to tyranny because they think they have to, to get votes.

1. He has appointed 2 originalist judges to the Supreme Court. The second after much screaming about Harriet Myers.

2. He forced tax cuts which has led to record monies in the treasury. Even socialist run states like CT has a surplus. Note, spending has been out of control. The tax cuts got us out of the pre-9-11 recession and the post 9-11 mess.

3. He has reminded conservatives why we need to keep non-conservatives like him and his father out of the White House.

One big thing is that he gave more money for schools and education that liberals like to admit. The Clinton's talked about all they did but Bush has provided more for those in need than Clinton and the liberals. Bush has also brought honor to the white house by his conduct with the family. Instead of chasing interns around the white house and sneaking around to get some action Bush lives a respectable life. Clinton made it a point of going to church but that was just for the press. His immorality proved what a liar both Him and Hillary are. They pretend to have a marriage instead of an arrangement. I feel bad for Chelsy.

Tax cuts.
No child Left behind.
Clean Coal technology.
Alien Deportation act.
Patriot Act.
Wire Taps (Security)
Homeland Security (Coincides with the above)
Ethanol program.
Social Security Trust Fund.
Last but certainly not least, and one of the more important things he has done is elected two Conservatives as Supreme Court Judges. Which I think was a great achievment for the bettering of America.

There are many things.

Now, what have Democrats done to help America since November??

I am a machine programmer, and at every plant I go to the parking lot is overflowing with cars from all the people they have had to hire. Interest rates for mortgages have been at 40-year lows. Those two things make my life happy. Did GW do that? Hell no, but for a strong ecomomy you need a Republican president. He has also given comedians enough material to last for decades.

I'm not going to name everything, but he has done a lot for this country weather you believe it or not. The economy is better, he has helped lower taxes, and most of all he is religious where other Presidents only claim to be yet do nothing to help our country. I love Bush and wish he could stay our President for a long time. Just look back at Carter and Nixon. Would you want them again, or someone like them???

I'll take the 2 good Supreme Court judges who know where this country came from and who wrote the Constitution.

He awakened the Godly people to stand against lawlessness in this country.

He reminded us that God still raises up His leaders and God is still in control.

He reminded us that evil must be dealt with regardless where it comes from.
