As the other person above stated, not all motorcyclists are crazy, like the corvette people aren't all driving like maniacs either. You get a few decent riders that are cocky, and you will have a "maniac" on the road. However, many times, we speed and weave in and out because we have more control that way, at times we do this because we know that cagers, aka people who drive in a car/truck..etc...don't see us and so we move in order to protect ourselves, while having a little bit of fun as well. Maybe if people turned their necks once and a while, we wouldn't have to drive so offensively.

some guys on bikes are very stupid. those are the same guys you tend to see on the news or in the obituaries.
most of us ride fast because speed stabilizes a motorcycle. and there is an added bonus of getting away from idiots in cars on cell phones. believe it or not, people who drive cars are more idiotic than motorcyclists on the road. i saw someone the other day actually READING A BOOK driving down the highway. now who's the maniac?
then there's those who think everyone should just bend to their driving. lane-changing without a signal or looking, tailgating, random brake checks, you name it.
there's my justification for riding fast. and keeping my bike as loud as possible so that if they don't see me, at least they'll hear me.

Anyone going slower than you is an @sshole, and anyone going faster is a maniac, right?
Motorcyclists are faster because it's VERY easy to do so. And we RIDE, we don't DRIVE.
We could ask the same question to all the ******* in their seats-nine-but-carries-one Hummers camping out in the left lane, talking on the cellphone and going well under the speed limit. Why are you all *******?

I always rode aggressively to get away from drivers changing lanes without looking while on their cell phones.
Also, because they have a lot of power between their legs. No different than people with sport cars.
lane splitting (or white lining) is also considered being a "maniac" for people who don't ride. Here in CA it's legal the highway. You can pretty much do it anywhere but I wouldn't roll up to a cop at a light or anything. The CA highway patrol (CHP) were the biggest proponents of the law when they tried to ban it here... statisically it's safer than riding "in" traffic.

Why do people talk on cell phones while driving?
Why do people in cars/trucks tailgate and cut others off?
Why do people ask stupid questions?
Few ride there bikes like that. Most of us are sensible. There are more maniac drivers of cars out there than bikes. If you do see them going fast, it is probably to get away from an idiot in a car/truck.

have you seen how some people drive cars, maniacs are people in suv's and cars that think they're invisible and own the road.
Some motorcyclist do drive irresponsible, BUT, most don't and some people in cars should have helmets on also.

yes i'll admit we drive like maniacs, sometimes. but have u seen the way people don't acknowledge us on the highway even when we're doing sporadic moves. i think it's safe to say this is a "2 way street". it goes both ways in my eyes. u can drive just as unsafe in a cage.

The truth is on full size sport bike 180kmh is a comfortable cruising speed...
240 is not far from 180 so you can see where things get hairy...
Most of them are idiots though and learn the hard way...
