It's there, currently wavering across mainly southern Canada (as far as this side of the Northern hemisphere is concerned). I suppose they don't pay much attention to it since it is weaker than in the wintertime. I'm sure when the first good surge of cold air starts, so will the noting of the Jet stream.

The weather channel has to keep changing the way they describe and present weather to get people to watch. Otherwise they can't get money from advertisers. On some stations they use bikini girls or pregnant girls to get people to look in, and then WHAM they put on a commercial....lol
The jet stream is "old hat" so they describe it different for the same reason basically.

the jet stream moved back north depending on where u live and the channel u r watching may not show you the jetstream.
u can look at the jetstream online
