We have a fairly big spider on the landing in a corner near the ceiling. It is a very delicate specimen with a cylindrical body like a piece of rice. It is not dead but it hasn't moved for weeks and doesn't seem to have caught anything to eat, so I wonder how it survives, it doesn't go walkabout during the night because I have looked several times and it rarely moves more than a couple of inches. There is no web.I've left it to see what happens eventually.

I live in Kent UK and the only spiders that trouble me are garden spiders that make webs from the garden fence to the hedge and I keep walking into them.

It's not a plague. If you have spiders you don't have fleas .... spiders won't live near fleas. Spiders are nice. Unless you're a fly of course. I live near Birmingham and no, I don't have spiders. Oh dear.
