Away from the Y Axis. X equals zero on the Y Axis. If X is getting bigger, it will move to the right -- which is away from the Y axis. This is true whether Y is increasing faster than Y or not.

If both are increasing and positive with Y increasing at a slower rate, then the graph will always be in the upper right quadrant with all points being below the 45 degree line.
