I worked hard at a job that paid better than 6.OO$ an hour but being a single mom it was still hard to do certain things on my own, such as medical, My husband did pay child support but that went straight to the state! I was getting the TANF, He NEVER missed a payment! And would even give me another 100$ because I didn't get the money he sent they kept it! Which i am not complaining about!! I had the help I needed but I also paid my on taxes and worked hard to do it!! I never once sat on my rear like some do and let someone else pay for what i could pay myself but the things I did need help with is what I am very grateful for, such as my son's surgery!!!! I just did't understand how they are still doing it when I am no longer on asst. and he paid his support every month plus they kept close to 14,000$ My entire taxes and it not be paid off. I haven't been on asst. since the end of dec. For the people that do expect free rides that is diff. I am not one of them

You might want to visit the appropriate office and sit down with someone to go over your account. Ask them to double check everything. After all, mistakes do happen. Oh, and good for you for working your way up!

There are exceptions to every rule, and you certainly exemplify that exception. While you did everything right and never took advantage of the system, there are some folks who do, unfortunately. My husband works for the Welfare Dept., and he can attest to the fact that at least 75% or more of the people abuse the system. That's probably why some think all people on assistance are that way. It's refreshing to meet an honest individual who has not only tried hard to help support her family, but also expresses appreciation for the help she received. Ma'am, you are a shining star! Just ignore those people who tend to look down on those who are a credit to the government who serves their needs.

YOU MUST HAVE transitional service in your city or town.
Keep looking for the entitlements for the sake of your children
Health Care should be for all and be a right not just an entitlement. Seek advise at your church and from City and State politicians. I know it is not easy dealing with the Establishment and those selfish people who would not grant you a good "way of Life"

Unfortunately for you there are people who have abused the system for generations. Kids seeing their fat *** mothers sitting around doing nothing but popping out more kids to increase their entitlements did nothing but teach the kids to pop out kids of their own.

For those who really need it, the system is deliberately difficult to migrate through. If you were going to be on it for 2 decades, those hard times built in to qualifying would be worth it. To be on it for a year or two makes all the BS difficult to deal with.

you should have no concerns whatsoever!!!

its the ones that are abusin the system that makes peaple sick!!!

you are the type of person that the system was set up for!!

temporary assistance!!!

look at government employees who have never broke a sweat in their life gettin free medical and all kinds of extra perks!!!

plus if they tried to take the ones off assistance that are lost in the system there would be more crime, riots, and bloodshed!!!

make sure you ask questions!!!

a lot of times the state workers have an attitude of "well ya didnt ask me, so i didnt tell ya"!!

People aren't attacking like you, the ones who sincerely need it, it's the one's who are lazy and apathetic and refuse to remove the government tit from their mouth.
