I know, really stupid question, but everyone thought for sure last year, the Mets and Tigers would meet in the World Series with the great seasons they both had (I predicted them this year).

But if this was Hollywood, how would the script end? The Mets overcoming their heartbreaker to the Cardinals, or the Tigers, who were the favorites to win it last year?

I think it would have to be the Tigers, just because they came closer, even though the Mets were very close to getting to the World Series

Hollywood would get all liberal and stupid (like they always do) and The Mets would win....on a buckner-like error.

But if it were real life, The Tigers would win by hard work, determination, fortitude, and gumption!

The Tigers. I know they're struggling, but in the postseason last year their pitching stepped up and they were stellar. The lineup are similar, but the advantage point is the pitching rotation. Compare the two:

Tigers
1. Justin Verlander- AL Rookie of the Year last season
2. Jeremy Bonderman- Solid pitcher, great slider, good
fastball
3. Nate Robertson- Average pitcher, steps up when needed
4. Andrew Miller- Two years removed from COLLEGE, great slider, deceptive fastball
5. Kenny Rogers- Hasn't been a factor during the season, but was the Tigers' best pitcher in the postseaon last year
(6) Jair Jurrjens- Just called up, but thrown into the fire agaisnt Cleveland and threw a one-hitter through 7

Mets
1. Tom Glavine- Great veteran pitcher with experience
2. Oliver Perez- 12-8 3.34 with 137 K's
3. Orlando Hernandez- 9-4 3.07 with solid curveball and funky delivery
4. John Maine- Young pitcher with great secondary pitches and can rack up K's
5. Brian Lawrence

The Mets!

The Tigers are not consistent enough to win a series!
